What Kootenai County actually digs

A lot of the digging in Kootenai County is not commercial work. It is people with five to twenty acres between Post Falls and Hayden Lake doing what a contractor used to do for them: a septic tank and drain field on a new build, a French drain around a shop, a driveway that washes out every spring, footings for a pole barn, stumps left over from clearing.

That work does not need a 5-ton machine and it does not need a rental booked three weeks out. It needs about six feet of digging depth, a machine narrow enough to get between the house and the fence, and a thumb for handling rock and root balls. In our lineup that is the R10 and R13 class.

Every machine carries the manufacturer’s parts warranty — 1 to 2 years depending on the model. The Kubota engine is covered separately under Kubota’s own engine warranty.
